Are Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj Beefing?

It seems so! 

During an interview with The New York Times, Miley Cyrus was asked to share her opinion on Nicki Minaj’s recent Twitter debacle with Taylor Swift over the MTV Video Music Awards. 

Miley responded by insinuating that Nicki is jealous of Taylor Swift and egotistical.

She said, “Not that this is jealousy, but jealousy does the opposite of what you want it to—that's a yoga mantra. People forget that the choices that they make and how they treat people in life affect you in a really big way. If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don't respect your statement because of the anger that came with it.”

She added, "And it's not anger like, 'Guys, I'm frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue.' You made it about you. Not to sound like a bitch, but that's like, 'Eh, I didn't get my VMA'...If you want to make it about race, there's a way you could do that. But don't make it just about yourself. Say: 'This is the reason why I think it's important to be nominated. There's girls everywhere with this body type.’"

Nicki naturally caught wind of the interview and tweeted a special thanks to Complex magazine for defending her in regards to Miley’s recent statements. 

It will be interesting to see how the brewing beef between Nicki and Miley evolves. After all, Nicki is opening the VMA’s while Miley is hosting. These two are bound to run into each other at some point.

Madame Tussauds Rethinks Nicki Minaj Wax Figure

Since debuting its Nicki Minaj wax figure last week at its Las Vegas location, Madame Tussauds has created loads of controversy. 

After fans caught a glimpse of the Nicki Minaj wax figure posing on all fours as homage to Nicki’s “Anaconda” music video, they slammed Madame Tussauds for its ill portrayal of women as sex objects.  Many criticized the wax museum for choosing to highlight Nicki’s body rather than her talent. 

“ Why did #MadameTussauds think that Nicki's wax statue was appropriate? Disgusting portrayal of black women,” Twitter user @MwenReleNaomi tweeted.

Even rapper Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to slam Madame Tussauds. 

She wrote, “As much as that woman has accomplished, they had to put her on all fours... Why not standing up with a mic in her hand ???”

And while some fans are boycotting the wax figure, others are getting way too intimate with the inanimate object.

Nicki Minaj fans have been posting photos of themselves grabbing the wax figure’s breasts and behind. One photo that has garnered the most backlash features a man pulling on Nicki’s hair and mounting her from behind with his groin area touching her butt.

Though Nicki has expressed amusement towards what fans are doing to her wax figure, Madame Tussauds is not having it. The company recently issued a statement saying that they will redesign the display of the Nicki Minaj wax figure and will add extra security to ensure that fans are behaving appropriately. 

“It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately and we apologize for any offense this has caused,” the museum said. “We do have staff monitoring guest behavior in the attraction and do our utmost to ensure our wax figures are treated respectfully, but on this occasion clearly one of of our hosts was not present.”
