On Sunday, Aug. 23, Azealia Banks went on a Twitter rant against black media and accused all black publications of shunning her from the spotlight.

According to Azealia, the only time she is highlighted and acknowledged in black media is when she is discussing another “white woman” such as fellow rapper Iggy Azalea.

As you probably already know, Azealia and Iggy have had a longstanding feud for years, but the feud arguably reached its peak when Azealia told New York radio station Hot 97 that Azalea is appropriating black culture.

“OK, so here's the thing with Iggy Azalea. I feel like, in this country, whenever it comes to our things like black issues or black politics or black music or whatever, there's always this like undercurrent of like 'f--k you' ... and that Iggy Azalea s--t is not better than any f-ckin' black girl that's rapping today. ... Iggy Azalea is not excellent,” Azealia told Hot 97 back in December.

Fast forward to this week, Azealia mentioned an Ebony article she was mentioned in regarding her comments on Iggy Azalea.

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Banks called out Ebony for only covering her in association with another white woman.

She then went on to accuse black media of not being supportive of her work and damaging her brand.

The following day, Banks continued her rant and this time called out BET and Hot 97 for ostracizing her as well.

Neither Ebony, Hot 97, or BET has responded publicly to Banks’ recent comments.

Azealia Banks Slams the BET Awards and Nicki Minaj

Azealia Banks is back at it again and this time she’s throwing shots at the BET Awards and Nicki Minaj.

Azealia—who is known for her social media feuds with an array of different artists—took to Twitter on Monday, May 18 to share her very negative views about BET, the upcoming BET awards, and Nicki Minaj.

Though Azealia has been nominated for the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category for this year’s BET awards, she still wasn’t pleased with her nomination and let the whole world know about it.

Azealia described the BET awards as “bogus” and went on to predict that Nicki would win over her since BET reportedly favors Nicki.

“The female rap award at the bet awards goes to nicki every year, it's not even a real award anymore lol it's a bit of a running joke,” Azealia wrote, adding, “They should just nominate nicki five times with five different wigs on and pick the best picture lol.”

After slamming the BET awards, Azealia then took aim at Nicki’s fans who call themselves “barbz.”

“*hears barbz buzzing in the distance* *rolls up car windows* *sound of little barb heads slamming into glass* *unconscious barbs on floor*” she wrote. “*turns up random nicki Minaj verse* *puts car in reverse* *backs up over barbs* *blood splatters* *puts car in drive and takes off*.”

Ouch!

Though it does appear that Nicki is a favorite over at BET—-she’s won the Best Female Hip-Hop artist category for five consecutive years since 2010—-Azealia may have had a shot…

Until now that is.

We agree that it would be nice to see another female rap artist win the award this year but it’s safe to say that Azealia has lost her shot.

It’s unfortunate that there’s such negativity when both of these women are talented and should embrace the other’s talent.

Azealia Banks is no stranger to creating controversy and stepping on toes. She’s had it out with everyone from T.I. to Iggy Azealia, and now, she’s going at BET and Nicki Minaj. For five consecutive years, Nicki Minaj has completely annihilated the competition when it comes to the “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” category at the BET Awards, and now, after being nominated for the award hereself, Azealia Banks has something to say. She took to her Twitter earlier today to talk about the shade she feels BET has thrown her over the years and her feelings about Minaj’s yearly nominations:

“ @bet has thrown me so much shade over the years. Keep misspelling my name…”

“I really hate getting nominated for @bet awards. They’re so bogus.”

“The female rap award at the bet awards goes to nickievery year, its not even a real award anymore lol it’s a bit of a running joke.”

Banks went on to crack a joke about how BET should just “nominate nicki five times with five different wigs on and pick the best picture.” You can see the series of tweets on here twitter page: https://twitter.com/azealiabanks.

Azealia Banks, not one to bite her tongue, recently expressed her very controversial views of the President in a recent interview with Billboard.

When asked to share her thoughts on President Barack Obama, Banks revealed that she finds him attractive and would love to f**k him in the Oval Office if she had the chance.

Say what!?

"He's so fine," she gushed. "Those big-ass white teeth and ears hanging off his head? I'm like, 'Oh my god, I want to f—k the president.'"

Banks also admitted her attraction towards security guards.

"I love security guards. They’re these big meathead bald white guys with blue eyes,”she said about security guards. “I want a really smart man, who has a lot of silly jokes and stuff. I have to tone it down if I want to get that.”

Naturally, Banks’ jokes caused a lot of controversy and backlash on social media prompting the NYC native rapper to clarify her statement.

In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, Banks accused Billboard of taking her words out of context. She also revealed that she would no longer be doing interviews this year.

“This interview was not my favorite. Lots of things I said got taken out of context," she wrote. "This whole interview was mostly about a few raunchy jokes I made…. when I really spoke about so much more. Maybe it was the journalist, maybe it was the editor. Who knows, don’t care. I’m not doing anymore interviews this year.”

Banks also addressed the controversy on Twitter and admitted her regret towards talking about the President that way and described herself as a “hot mess.”

“Why can't I just stop being a hot mess? Like just for once ?!?!” she tweeted, adding, “I said so many other interesting things during that interview. I'm seriously going to start bringing a tape recorder to interviews.”
