Shonda Rhimes Bringing new Comedy Series to ABC

Shonda Rhimes’ production company Shondaland is developinga new divorce comedy series for the ABC network.

Shondaland’s new show is titled “Splitsville” and it was created by “Trophy Wife” creators Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins. The show will center around divorced residents living in a suburban area who come together to raise their children. 

Shondaland is venturing off into new territory with the development of its first comedy series “Splitsville.” Rhimes and Shondaland are known for creating hit ABC dramas such as “Scandal,” “How to Get Away With Murder,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Cornelius Smith Jr. to be Full-Time Cast Member on ‘Scandal’

Cornelius Smith Jr. has been promoted to series regular and official cast member for the upcoming fifth season of “Scandal,” TV Line reports. 

Last season,  Cornelius appeared as a guest star and  played Marcus Walker in the Michael Brown-inspired episode titled “The Lawn Chair.”  He later appeared on the show again for the episode titled “I’m Just a Bill.” 

It is unclear how Cornelius’ character will be incorporated into the new season, but rumor has it  that he may be added to Olivia Pope’s team of gladiators. 

Prior to his full-time role on “Scandal,” Cornelius was the winner of the 2014 ABC Discovers digital talent competition that offers actors a chance to win a  $25,000 one-year contract with ABC. 

Following the news of his “Scandal,” promotion,  Cornelius took to Instagram to share his excitement and gratitude. 

“This year has been unbelievable yet refreshingly believable. I shall remain forever grateful for the journey and what's ahead. I am super duper excited to be joining the cast of SCANDAL! Let's GO!!,” he  wrote.
