Chakra Healing Through Your Food

In today’s climate of fighting through a global pandemic that’s still raging in some places, it’s important to not only keep your body physically healthy but spiritually healthy.

I find myself being more intentional with what I’m putting in my body. Especially since I fought the virus off from March to April. Once I was well enough to get back on my feet, I knew I needed to heal my chakras after being thrown so far off base. All of the colors of each chakra correspond to the food that helps to stimulate them.

So here’s a few chakra healing foods to help you get centered!

The Root Chakra:

It’s literally your base or root of your body. The Root Chakra is connected to financial independence, money matters & of course, food. The foods you want to eat to stimulate this chakra would be foods that are crimson or red in color. Here are a few:

  • Beets

  • Strawberries

  • Tomatoes

  • Chilies

The Sacral Chakra:

It’s right above your root chakra & it deals with your creativity, sexuality, & reproduction. It’s the emotional center for abundance, well-being, & pleasure. The foods that stimulate this specific chakra are:

  • Orange

  • Papaya

  • Mango

  • Pumpkin

  • Cantaloupe

  • Honey

The Solar Plexus Chakra:

This chakra is linked to your feelings of willpower, self-esteem, the ability to exercise control & confidence.

The foods for this specific chakra most are yellow. Here’s just a few:

  • Banana

  • Pineapple

  • Apricots

  • Yogurt

  • Corn

  • Whole Grains

  • Cheese

The Heart Chakra:

The Heart Chakra is probably the most important of all of these. Let’s be honest, what’s in our heart is often reflected physically. The Heart Chakra is most associated with kindness, joy, inner peace, & compassion. So what we’re eating to nurture our heart & bodies is so important. Here’s a few heart foods to get you realigned:

  • Broccoli

  • Kale

  • Lettuce

  • Sprouts

  • Tofu

  • Brown Rice

  • Lentils

The Throat Chakra:

The Throat Chakra is probably 1b when it comes to importance of having balance. Just like it’s important to be intentional to what you’re giving your heart & absorbing, your words are also important. This chakra is specifically associated with communication. Your words can cut like a knife or be as gentle as a breeze. Here’s some foods to help with your words:

  • Blueberries

  • Blackberries

  • Kelp

  • Dragonfruit

  • Wheatgrass

  • Ginseng

  • Mushroom

The Third Eye Chakra:

*Rubs between my eye brows for other worldly vision* The lovely Third Eye. The all seeing eye as I like to call it. This chakra is impertinent when it comes to ideas, intuition, visualizations & perspectives. You are essentially seeing the big picture of situations. Personally speaking, my third eye hasn’t steered me wrong yet. This is the chakra that tells you the vibes are off. Listen to it. Here are some superfoods to activate & realign this chakra:

  • Grapes

  • Eggplant

  • Black Currants

  • Purple Carrots

  • Purple Lettuce

The Crown Chakra:

This is the seventh & final chakra. The Crown. The literal top of your head. It took me two years into my yoga practice to activate my crown chakra. I did a handstand in class & my consciousness has been elevating since. That was 2017. Your Crown Chakra deals with your spiritual awakening, consciousness, inner wisdom, ability to be present, & seeking enlightenment. The only foods you need to activate this chakra are:

  • Prayer

  • Meditation

  • Water

Aside from what I normally say about drinking water & minding your business, I’ll leave you with this, protect your energy. That includes feeding it properly. The way you take care of your body is a reflection of how you feel about yourself.
