ABOUT ROTIMI TV
As a talented multi-hyphenate, Rotimi is leading a new era of game changers. The singer-songwriter, actor, and model, is best known for his role as Darius Morrison on Starz Network critically acclaimed series, Boss.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Rotimi is no stranger to the spotlight, winning Apollo Theater's "Amateur Night" twice at the mere age of 15. He then joined a group with Jay-Z's nephews and had the opportunity to perform for Jay-Z during his senior year of high school. Rotimi always had a strong passion for the performing arts.
While at Northwestern University, in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science in Communications and Business, he began to explorecareer in acting. Since then, Rotimi has kept busy expanding his career and building a consistently growing fanbase. Rotimi landed his first acting role on Starz critically acclaimed series, “Boss” for two seasons, which also starred Kelsey Grammer, Sanna Lathan, and rapper T.I. He has also had re-occurring roles in Betrayal on ABC and Battle Creek on CBS. Rotimi is currently starring in Starz’s hit series, POWER as a series regular playing new-comer, "Dre”- the quick-tempered young protégé to Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's character.
Jumping into the big screen, Rotimi made his film debut in Fox Searchlight’s 2013 Christmas movie, "Black Nativity" as officer McDaniels opposite of Forrest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, and Jennifer Hudson just to name a few. Rotimi later got role in the film, Divergent with co-stars Ashley Judd, Kate Winslett, Zoe Kravitz and Tony Goldwyn. He also starred in Imperial Dreams which co-stars KeKe Palmer and John Boyega. The film premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival to audience praise. More recently, Rotimi just wrapped up the filming of Deuces featuring Lance Gross, Megan Good and Lorenz Tate slated for theaters in January 2016.
In addition to acting, Rotimi has lent his brand as feature model/spokesperson for Grammy Award winning rapper TI’s AKOO Clothing Brand in the 2012 Spring/Summer campaign. He also played the love interest in Keyshia Cole's music
video “Trust & Believe” and in 2014 he starred in T.I.’s short film-music video, “G Sh*t” opposite Young Jeezy and directed by Chris Robinson.
As a contemporary R&B artist, Rotimi released two stellar digital music projects, Rotimi has released two mixtapes, “The Resume” (2011) and “While You Wait” (2012). In 2012, BET's '106 & Park' featured Rotimi as their spotlight artist, leading
to "Rotimi" and "Beautiful Music" trending worldwide on Twitter. This past spring, Rotimi rocked the stage at SXSW and is now gearing up to release his new single this
